USC 2-7 Elizabeth Downs

Downs’ ever-present hunger for silverware was evident on the weekend as they trounced USC Lion 7-2. Sam Watson managed a second-half hattrick, and McGreevy a brace respectively. Downs picked up a few injuries however, hopefully none of which are serious enough to rule them out for this week’s potential title-decider against Parafield Gardens.

Sturt Marion 3-1 MA Hawks

Sturt got the job done in their 3-1 win over MA Hawks. Hawks hung around for most of the game, with Sturt only putting the game beyond doubt in the 91st with a strike from Jonathon Rose, his second of the game.

Parafield Gardens 4-1 Adelaide Red Blue Eagles

Gardens appear to be going from strength to strength as they dispatched of Adelaide Red Blue Eagles, 4-1. This marks three big losses in a row for Red Blue Eagles (including league), but they will have their chance to get things going again as they prepare to face USC Lion.

FK Beograd 1-5 Old Ignatians

It was always going to be a big ask of FK Beograd to overcome Iggies, with their cup run coming to a close as they were beaten 5-1. Aplin, Penta and Titaro all helped themselves to a goal, whilst Orlando secured a brace. Iggies’ attention now turns to their blockbuster clash with Modbury Jets.

West Beach 3-4 Ghan Kilburn

West Beach were right in the game against their Premier Division opponents Ghan Kilburn, right up until the 81st minute. Ghan’s leading goal scorer in the league, Asad Abassi, scored the winner and gave his side a much-needed confidence boost after a tough few weeks.

Para Hills East 4-2 Adelaide Titans

In a pulsating Saturday v Sunday clash, Para Hills East were too good for Titans in their 4-2 victory. Lachlan Barr earned himself a tidy brace, with Halliday and Norwood also scoring. Saturday’s leading goal scorer Zac Allevi also scored a brace, but sadly it wasn’t enough to get his side over the line.

Modbury Soccer Club 0-1 Salisbury Inter

Salisbury Inter grinded out a 1-0 win over Division 2 side Modbury Soccer Club, and in doing so have earned themselves a spot in the quarters. A massive result for Inter, who should be encouraged as they prepare to face Ghan in a massive league-clash this weekend.

Tea Tree Gully 5-2 Brahma Lodge

Gully’s impressive season continues as they storm into the quarters with their 5-2 win over Brahma Lodge. Billy Alottey scored a brace, whilst Anfiteatro, Evans and Williams also scored.

Reserve Cup

USC Lion 1-4 Para Hills West

Lion were unable to make their home-advantage count as they were overcome by Para Hills West 4-1. A first half brace from Oscar Riziki had the visitors on the front foot, with two goals right after halftime putting the game beyond doubt and Westies into the next round.

Sturt Marion 0-1 South Coast

South Coast’s impressive run continued this weekend, as they overcame another Premier team in Sturt Marion. Kamil Kwiecien’s goal in the 72nd was the difference.

Tea Tree Gully 6-0 Monarchs

Tea Tree Gully asserted their authority over the weekend with their 6-0- thumping of Monarchs. The Gully will back themselves to go all the way in this competition and are playing themselves into form at the perfect time.

Parafield Gardens 2-1 Adelaide Uni

It took an extra-time goal from Parafield Gardens #4 Cameron Box to vanquish Adelaide Uni, who put up a great fight and will feel unlucky not to be going into the next round. Their attention now turns to the league, as they currently hold onto first-place.

WA Raptors 2-6 St Peters

St Peters had a resounding 6-2 away win over Sunday’s WA Raptors. In an otherwise tough year for the away side, this was an impressive victory and could serve as a platform to build on for the rest of the season.

West Beach 2-5 Ghan Kilburn

Ghan Kilburn showed their Premier Division credentials in their 5-2 win over Division 2 side West Beach. West Beach are currently second in their own league but were unable to translate that form into an upset over the Ghan this weekend.

Para Hills East 0-7 Modbury Jets AFC

It was a day to forget for Easties reserves, as they were trounced 7-0 at home by Modbury Jets. Goals from Deirel, Ipekdal, Martini, Gibbons and a hat-trick from Thomas May put the game beyond doubt and secured the Jets a place in the quarter finals.

Ingle Farm 0-1 Stirling Districts

Stirling managed to topple over yet another Premier Division team this weekend, as a Terry Hayes free kick was the difference in a gritty 1-0 away win.
